GCSE: THURSDAY 22 AUGUST
1) COLLECTION
RESULTS ONLINE: AS & A2 ONLY
On Thursday 15th August, you can access your CCEA* results online from 8am using the PIN distributed in registration prior to study leave. If you have lost your PIN, contact the school office (although please note that practically it may not be possible to provide a replacement before results day).
The online results portal is available by clicking here.
*WJEC or AQA do not provide an online service. You do not need your CCEA PIN to collect your results in person.
IN-PERSON COLLECTION:
Although not compulsory, you are encouraged to collect your results printout in school if possible.
A2 Results can be collected between 9:00 – 10:00 in the Assembly Hall on Thurs 17 August.
AS Results can be collected between 10:00 – 10:30 in the Assembly Hall on Thurs 17 August.
Yr 12 Results can be collected between 9:00 – 9:30 in the Assembly Hall on Thurs 22 August.
Yr 11 Results can be collected between 10:00 – 10:30 in the Sports Hall on Thurs 22 August.
What happens if I am not available to collect my results?
If you are unable to be there in person to collect, please nominate someone in advance by emailing info@pc.portadown.ni.sch.uk. State your name, year group and the name of the person you nominate. Results cannot be given by us over the phone or email.
Any result envelopes left over by 10:30am can be collected at the Front Office. Those not collected by 3pm will be posted out. The parentmail issued in July provides some additional information if required.
For Year 12 students who need to confirm their subject choices for Year 13, information will go live on Google Classroom the morning of results for you to follow, including entry requirements and online selection form.
2) STATEMENT OF RESULTS
In your envelope you will receive a statement of results. This will clearly list your grades, as well as the marks for each unit and overall subject if applicable. Please do not lose your statement of results as this will provide all the information you need (e.g. unit codes) to order a remark if required. For Yr 12 – 14, this statement will also act as your record of achievement until your formal certificate is issued in November. Some envelopes may also contain additional information regarding photographs.
3) GRADE BOUNDARIES
If you are considering a remark, it is important to know how close you are to the next grade boundary.
The easiest way to work this out is by comparing the uniform mark on your results statement to the uniform grade boundaries (UMS).
- You can do this for the overall subject by comparing your Final Uniform Mark (Yr 12-14)
- You can also do this for each individual unit within the subject.
The boundaries are not released until results morning, but will be found on the Exam Board websites linked below.
CCEA Grade Boundaries:
AQA Grade Boundaries
WJEC Grade Boundaries
Note: the raw mark boundaries might not be published until later.
4) APPEALS / REMARKS / POST RESULTS SERVICE
For AS & A2: The post results service (i.e. remarks etc) opens at 11:00 on Thursday 15 August.
For GCSE: The post results service (i.e. remarks etc) opens at 9:00 on Friday 23 August.
All the details are provided in the letter linked below, including your options and order form. You can include more than one subject/unit on the same form if required.
Post Results Service Options & Order Form
Once the teaching term begins on 2 September, the order window will be reduced to between 11:00 – 11:20 each day.
The re-sitting of a unit/subject is not processed at this stage. Further information on how to do this will be provided later in the academic year. If you are a Yr 14 Leaver, please contact the school before 1 December 2024 if you are interested in re-sitting as a private candidate in Summer 2025.
