Portadown College entered two teams for the Business and Professional Women’s Public Speaking Competition:  Katherine Whitten defended the right to freedom of conscience, tackling the topically controversial ruling on Asher’s Bakery, supported by Tim Neill as Chairperson and Alex Maxwell as Expresser of Thanks. Joanna Kerr delivered an emotive evaluation of the refugee crisis with team mates Kiara McClelland and Sophie Heasley.  It would have been difficult to choose between the two teams given the excellent standard of both.  This dilemma was reflected in the adjudicators’ decision to send both through to the NI Final.
