Teams from schools had £21,000 to invest in a range of shares and the Euro in a competition which simulated five days of trading on a stock exchange. The teams of five were divided according to different roles, namely media analyst, investment manager, finance manager, buyer and seller.
By the end of the challenge the Portadown College team had increased the value of their investment up to £58,200 – a full £6000 more than the team that finished second.
The team of Year 11 Business Studies students consisted of (left to right) Scott Patterson, Nathan Cowan, Jordan Lewis, Christopher Thornbury and Joanna Kerr. There is clearly a bright future ahead for these shrewd investors!
