It seems that Portadown College has another Olympian in the making.  Year 11 boy Ethan Williamson has been selected for Team Ireland in athletics where he is already enjoying success.

Competing for Team Ireland at the Irish School International Combined Events competition at the Athlone Institute of Technology on Saturday 10th December, Ethan’s Under 16 team were placed 2nd overall.  Second place in a home nations competition including Ireland was a great achievement, and one that included some of Ethan’s personal bests.

The Combined Event competition includes 60m hurdles, long jump, 200m, shot put and 800m.  Ethan recorded 2 Personal Bests, with a record equalling 8.66s in the 60m hurdles, and another PB of 2.22s in the 800m.
