One of the highlights of PCSU last year: a fire-eater who used his talent to give a very dramatic testimony. PCSU Portadown College Scripture Union Aims? To know more about God. To put into practice this knowledge. This was summed up in this year’s theme: GROW TO GO. What is it? A chance to come together in school to worship God, pray, have fellowship, socialise and meet new people. Where and when does it meet? Friday lunchtimes in the Assembly Hall. Prayer Meetings on Thursday in H4. What happened this year? We began with the incredibly popular Teachers’ Panel – where teachers were grilled on their faith. Mr Atkinson, Mrs Montgomery and Mr Morris stood up well under the pressure.
Mr Atkinson, Mrs Montgomery and Mr Morris taking part in Question Time. We had a variety of speakers – from very local (Mr Spence) to those from continental Europe. Crown Jesus Ministries took us through a Mission Boot Camp, and a knife-juggling, fire-eater from Holland gave a very dramatic testimony.
The fire-eater demonstrating his juggling skills as part of his contribution to PCSU. Speakers tackled major issues such as Relationships and ‘How to’ sessions on Bible study and prayer. Past members returned to tell us what life is like outside the College. PCSU also attended the farewell concert of Delirious in the Waterfront Hall – Mr Grant got very emotional as it reminded him of his youth! Tea, coffee, biscuits and sometimes hot chocolate and cake are provided. PCSU is run by students, for students. Come along on September 3rd for a taster of what’s in store this year . A Year 13 student enjoying SU this year. |
