SCHOOL MAGAZINE

The School Magazine will provide a number of opportunities for students to contribute to a record of the school year.  If you are interested in writing then, obviously, the magazine will allow you to develop your journalistic skills and to write articles on a range of topics.  You may, for example, watch some of the great sporting events on television and think: "I would love a job where all you do is sit in a studio overlooking Wembley/the Millennium Stadium/the Monaco Grand Prix or the far flung perch at the Birds' Nest in Beijing".  Well, the lucky few John Inverdale clones started off writing for their school magazines and their local newspapers. So you too could write about a wide range of topics, including sport, for the PC School Magazine.

We also need photographers and people who are interested in writing about any of the clubs and societies in school.  If you are an art student, we need people to co-ordinate which art will be photographed for the magazine.  You might be interested in graphic design and those skills would be useful too.  Budding Apprentice types would find their talents put to good use in trying to persuade local businesses of the publicity and benefits of sponsoring the magazine

The magazine is going to include some creative writing and poetry written by students so, if you are an enthusiastic writer, you should join the Magazine Committee.

You should listen carefully to the announcements in Assembly and at Registration in September so that you can come along and be part of making decisions about how your school is represented in print.
