In September 2009 the PTA became the PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) and a group of willing Sixth Formers signed up so that the student voice could be heard when making fundraising decisions and agreeing about where money could be allocated in order to benefit the maximum number of College students. PARENTS - WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP? You can help in several ways. You could become a member of the Committee, which includes parents, staff and now pupils. This means that you would be part of the decision-making process and would be able to make suggestions about raising funds and allocating money to various projects in school. If your time is more limited, you could become a Helper which means that you might make yourself available to help out at one or more of the fundraising events throughout the year. Either way, deciding to give some time to the PTSA is a good way to contribute to the life of the school and to help your own and other young people. It is also a good way to meet new people and to experience the life of your child's school from a new perspective. |
